The LetterA Poem by JohannaA WWII poem, something about this time just gets to me..The Letter A soldier was reading a letter Walking down the road Whispering every word to himself Tasting joy from long ago Until the words fell behind in the snow
The words were trampled By the boots of every soldier Worn, lonely, hurt in battle Each day getting older
Finally a victory But the price was too high Losing hope, love, sanity You stop asking yourself why
A soldier was lying on a field Turning the snow red Letting it come, the fear he concealed Wondering what it´d feel like to be dead Repeating known words over again If only he had that letter then © 2014 JohannaReviews
