I DIDN'T

This poem just came falling out of the sky, I hope it will be meaningful.

It was my dream but

It wasn't mine to take

So I didn't know what

To do but stay awake

Waiting for it to go away

but it didn´t

oh, it didn´t

If I closed my eyes I

Would draw up your shape

Holding on to hope that

Only a dream can make

Waiting for the trance to break

but it didn´t

Oh, it didn´t

I am falling asleep

I´m dreaming about you

You were never mine to keep

You always knew

But I didn´t

oh, I didn´t

So don't let night set

Don't sing me a lullaby

Don't make me forget

That we said goodbye

Cause I didn´t

This was so heartfelt and sad, but it held much deep meaning to it. It's not easy to like someone who you can't have or who doesn't like you in the same way, but it's life. As long as that person still makes you happy and keeps you stable through the day, that's all that really matters, I feel. It's okay to still feel the same about them, no one says you have to forget about them right away. You can always take your time to bask in their memories :)
