River of tears

I was staring into mid-air

Thinking thoughts I didn't want to share

I´m sorry I hid my heart from you

When you were desperate to hear

I was protecting myself

From you, and everyone else

I´m sorry I hid my heart from you

and made you utter your farewells

Now I´ll gather the rain

and make a river of tears

and you will remain

Clueless to my heartbroken prayers

I was afraid

of love so I let you leave

Now I´ll gather the rain

and watch it flow back into the sea

I was staring at the sunset

Gathering all of my regrets

I´m sorry I hid my heart from you

I´m sorry time never resets

I was protecting my soul

But in my heart I´ve made big hole

I´m sorry I hid my heart from you

but life´s pain has taken its toll

Now I´ll gather the rain

and make a river of tears

and you will remain

Interesting that you live in the city of rain and your poem here speaks to the rain of tears you shed. Hiding the heart is done to prevent being hurt....often with the opposite result.

Very touching poetry. "River of tears" is a great title. After reading the piece, I got one more title to subject it is, "Vile of tears". Seemed similar, but still much differ from each others worth.

My fav. line: "I´m sorry time never resets". The poems reveals the secret of "love" that belongs to "Tragedy of love". Well written!

Beautiful and poignant. Many a times we deny ourselves the bliss of love because of bad experiences in the past. But someday we have to stare deep into our fears and may be that day we may get what always deserved.

Life is too short regretting on passed moments will not bring any thing , always chances is there to fix the broken bonds, if it is just a writing without real story and real feelings well that will differ dramatically
and at that point writing is horrible because when we can write we have a pre emotions that will make us write so if it is writing with feelings of regret then nice one would be and again doors are always opened to Gather the Rain.
