I wanted to trust you

But I let my worries get in between

Now I´ll just wait for rain to fall and wash my conscience clean

I wanted to love you

But I let our differences push you away

If I had told you to just go, would you have stayed?

I wanted to know you

But I let my fears drag us apart

And now you're sitting right in front of me and I can't see where you are

I wanted to hold you

But I let my worries get in between

You could have held me, now I´ll never know what could have been

The write reminds me a very beautiful melted-down song "The Breath" - "Police" (Every breath you take). Short poetry contains much depth of words within its stanzas. Liked it!

I really like the poem Johanna. I like the flow of it all the way to the last line. You had a really good rhyming scheme all the way through which made it flow really well. Between and clean, away and stayed, Apart and are but the between and been dont fit the scheme. I maybe would change it to But I let my worried get in between, You could have held me, now "our" future will never be seen. Maybe something like that just to keep the flow and rhyming. Just a thought... I really like this poem... good job :)
