A love poem

A love poem

A Poem by Josh Heighton
"

Flowers bloom

"
Flowers bloom and die as if lost in time
Love comes and goes as if time is sped up
Perhaps love is time or rather the wisdom to continue to love

Flowers bloom and die, however every once and a while one single flower stays true
One flower sticks out through the crowded white blanket
One single Ivy, spreading through the white wasteland

Eventually the white yet dark sheath is risen, lifted by green
Light begins to seep through and turn pain into wisdom
This knowledge that sheds the dark as laughter

The ivy spreads through its tentacled roots
Soon imbedded into the soul of the earth and rock
Both wisdom and love persevering over the dark white blanket
