Happiness is Just a Gash Away

Sitting here with a blade in my hand,

I think about you,

And I’m smiling at the thought

Of what I’m about to do.

 

Feeling this sudden rush

Of energy flowing through me,

I realise that there is nowhere else

I would rather be…

 

…Than right here on

My bathroom floor,

Knowing that, after this,

The pain will be no more…

 

…Knowing that

No matter what you say –

I know that happiness

Is just a gash away.

 

Now, just lying here,

The floor covered in red,

The final words I want to say,

Is that it was for you I bled.

 

And I now understand

That, come what may,

Happiness is just

A gash away.
