Angel of Mine

I thought I had found him,
Finally found my soul mate.
Someone I could talk to,
Someone I felt comfortable around,
Someone who had experienced what I have.

I thought he had been sent to me,
To help me,
To teach me.
But now he's gone.
And all I have left
Is the faintest memory of his touch,
His kiss,
Our connection.

Will I ever feel it again?
From him?
From ANYBODY?
It seems so impossible
How completely he has disappeared.
Was he ever there to begin with?
Did I 'create' my perfect mate
Or does he actually exist somewhere?

He came at a time
When I needed him most -
He saved me from myself.
I never noticed it then,
But I remember it now -
His golden halo and silky wings...
Can it be true?
Was he in fact an angel?
If I call on him again,
Will he return?
Or did I have
My one and only meeting
With my soul mate?
