Butterfly

Butterfly

A Poem by Kitty

Am I a girl dreaming I'm a butterfly
Or am I a butterfly dreaming I'm a girl?
Why does life seem so confusing,
My whole world upside down?

Up, in the air,
Flying through clouds,
Over seas,
Above my loved ones,
I cannot help but wonder:
Why do I fly alone?
Why aren't they with me in the sky?

I awaken from the dream,
And climb out of my cocoon,
A beautiful butterfly.
A new life begins...

In one of our first question/answer messages you mentioned wanting to be a butterfly. I'll never forget! This so perfectly communicates the hope of transformation; of a metamorphosis. The desire to move on and rise up as that which has hidden inside us for so long. Beautiful!!!

Ah, this is really sweet! I loved the questions you asked such as; "Am I a girl dreaming I'm a butterfly
Or am I a butterfly dreaming I'm a girl?" Really good use of perspectives. Also I enjoyed the rhythm of this piece, it is well penned and makes for a really enjoyable read. Great write!
