Dashed Dreams

Dashed Dreams

A Poem by Kitty

I had dreamed
Of that day,
Fantasised about it
For as long as I can remember;
To press my face up against the airplane window,
Seeing the Statue of Liberty
Looming up ahead,
Hearing the captain's voice say,
"Welcome to New York.
Hope you enjoy your stay".

But that dream,
That fantasy,
That hope I once had
Has been dashed,
Destroyed,
Demolished,
Drowned.
And I am left crying,
Broken,
Disappointed.
All I wanted was a chance
For a better life,
But all I am left with
Is dashed dreams...

A least it was just the statue of liberty and not the world trade center.

About
Finding peace has always been a struggle for me. But if there is one thing I can wish for the world, it's peace, love, more tolerence, faith, hope and trust. I hope you find it somewhere out there.... more..
