Oblivious

Oblivious

A Poem by Kitty

Standing there,

You look right through me.

You’re staring so hard

And yet you still don’t see.

You look at my face

And see the tears in my eyes.

You ask how I’m doing

Not knowing I’m about to die.

Walking by me,

You encourage a smile.

You don’t seem to understand,

I haven’t been happy in a while.

I put my head down

And you say I must be getting flu.

I don’t think I have ever met

Someone as oblivious as you.

I’m sad, God damn it,

Why can you not see?

I’m dying inside

And no one knows it but me.

You’re oblivious

To all that isn’t you.

I wonder, if this was your pain,

What would you do?

But it isn’t your pain –

It’s mine I have to live with,

And down this river of gloom

On a boat of tears I drift.

One day I hope

That you will see,

That my life was full of nothing

But pain and misery.

You could’ve saved me,

I just want you to know,

But don’t bother trying now,

I’d rather you just go.

Remain oblivious

In your own little world.

I know you never have and never will

Care about this little girl…

This is good. I liked the rythem. The structure is perfect. This poem is very deep. It made me feel sad as I read it. Very good though!

Finding peace has always been a struggle for me. But if there is one thing I can wish for the world, it's peace, love, more tolerence, faith, hope and trust. I hope you find it somewhere out there.... more..
