Respect!

Respect!

A Poem by Kitty

You tell me to respect you,
But that's not fair.
Respect is earned,
Not simply given.
How can you expect me to respect you
If you don't respect me,
Not one bit?
"Respect your elders," you say.
But you're only my elders in this life.
How do you know I wasn't your elder
In another life?
We could be on the same spiritual level.
Hence, respect earned
Is respect given.
Until you realise
That I'm not a little child anymore,
Don't expect my respect for free.

About
Finding peace has always been a struggle for me. But if there is one thing I can wish for the world, it's peace, love, more tolerence, faith, hope and trust. I hope you find it somewhere out there.... more..
