You have always gotten
Love and care.
When you needed someone,
I was always there.

I hugged and kissed you
When you were down.
Made you smile -
Took away your frown.

I tucked you in
When it was time for bed.
When you wanted a story,
I opened a book and read.

When there was a storm
And you tried to hide,
I assured you
That you were safe inside.

I was always there
When you needed someone to be.
You were always loved and cared for.
What about me?
