A Single Tear

A Single Tear

A Poem by Kitty

A single tear

Rolls down her cheek

And she realises,

It’s all for him.

It’s a tear of joy,

Yet a tear of confusion.

A tear of pain;

A tear of loneliness;

A tear of fear

That what she feels

Is not real;

Fear that he is

Just too good to be true;

That he is just a fantasy,

Brought to life

By her sad, lonely imagination…

Here again you write so eloquently what my soul has felt. To cling to hope, realizing that hope might be only my imagination. Perceiving a glance or a smile as something not truly intended. So beautiful in its sorrow...

your friend always,

Craig
