Midnight Fling

Midnight Fling

A Poem by Kitty

“No-strings attached”?

Why didn’t you say so from the start?

I could’ve lived with that.

But you told me a bit late –

My heart has already gotten involved

And you’re about to break it.

I never wanted more

Than a part time thing,

But you insisted that you wanted more.

Yeah, I was dumb for falling for it,

But what was I to do?

My heart had already fallen for you.

“No-strings-attached”

I wish you had said something sooner.

I like the idea of never having

To worry about commitment;

Never worrying about doing things wrong.

It’s all just for fun.

And now, lying in your bed,

Your arms wrapped around me,

I know it’s time to leave.

Although, I have one foot in your bedroom,

One foot is out the door.

So sleep sweet, my part time fling.

Brilliant and bittersweet. You capture so well the days approach to love; passion without strings and love without wings... A playful darkness dances around and through your words!

Finding peace has always been a struggle for me. But if there is one thing I can wish for the world, it's peace, love, more tolerence, faith, hope and trust. I hope you find it somewhere out there.... more..
