The Hardest Part is Leaving You

 

I’ve thought this through,

Planned it right to the end.

There is nothing I haven’t thought of -

Nothing can go wrong.

 

I’ve spent the last couple of years

Drowning in my sorrow,

Sinking to the bottom

Of my own dark, dismal abyss.

 

I’ve been dying,

Piece by piece,

Killing myself slowly,

Painfully.

 

But there was always on thing

That stopped that final breath

From escaping my lips;

That prevented that final drop of blood

From leaving my body;

And that one thing is you.

My love for you

Has kept me hanging on

For one last day.

 

But I want out!

I don’t want to suffer anymore.

 I don’t want to feel anymore.

I don’t want to breathe anymore.

I don’t want to live anymore.

 

But I never want to be without you…
