You or the Grave

You or the Grave

A Poem by Kitty

All this time

All I've wanted was you.

All I ever needed

Was for your love to be true.

But you've lied to me

So many times.

I believed you when you said

That you would be mine.

I trusted every

Word out of your lips.

I remember the feeling

Of you under my finger tips.

I did everything I could

To make you smile.

I love you so much that

I even gave up my child.

And now you turn

And say you want no more.

You just turn around

And walk out the door.

What have I done

To change your mind?

I've never had

A ‘love’ of this kind.

You're my everything -

This cannot be the end.

There is no way

My broken heart will ever mend.

I've given you

My absolute all

And you're just going to stand there

And watch me fall.

I reach out my hand

In a final attempt to be saved,

But you just turn your back

As fall into my grave.

A powerful passage of love and loss. So full of emotion, moving from the brightness and joy of a relationship to the death that takes place in a life (sometimes simply internal, sometimes physical as well). Your emotion and expression are so clearly expressed through your vivid words!

Finding peace has always been a struggle for me. But if there is one thing I can wish for the world, it's peace, love, more tolerence, faith, hope and trust. I hope you find it somewhere out there.... more..
