The Most Beautiful of All God's AngelsA Poem by KittyWhat if a guy was to actually like me?The one in the corner? She came in every day And sat at that same place. I watched for her, Just hoping to catch A glimpse of Heaven. Yes, that she is - An angel, A special piece of Heaven. She’s so beautiful, So pure, But yet she always looked So sad and lonely. I wondered what she thought about When she sat there on her own, Staring out the window At the world passing by. I’d have given anything to find out How that gorgeous mind of hers ticked. One day when she was done staring And she got up to leave, I saw those blue-green eyes, Glistening with tears. I just wanted to run up to her, And hold her, Run my fingers through her lovely dark hair And tell her everything would be okay. I wanted to wipe the tears Out of those perfect eyes; I wanted to kiss all the pain away. But while these images Conjured themselves in my head, She walked out the door Into the faceless crowd. Would I ever have the guts To tell her how I feel; To tell her that she’s the Most Beautiful girl in the world; To tell her I wanted her to be mine? Oh, who am I kidding? She wouldn’t be interested In the likes of me. But, alas, I was wrong. She walked back inside And placed her arms around my neck.. She said she had seen me Staring at her every day, And that she knew That the flowers on her table And the poems on her napkins Were meant for only her. She said she’d cried after Reading each line, Because she felt that this Was the man of her dreams. And when she figured out That I had written them, She knew I was the one. I am the happiest man alive Because I have this beautiful girl at my side. The most beautiful of all God’s angels Is mine to love. And love her I will. I’ll take care of her Like no one else can. I’ll love her In a way she has never known. I will respect her As though she is a princess And I will treat her like that Perfect, pure angel that she is… Copyright©JosieWentzel20March2008
