Tighter, Oh Mighty OneA Poem by KittyHappiness only runs skin deep. Each time I think I’ve found A reason to smile, A tiny speck of what happiness Might feel like, They find a way To rob me of it. Parents Nothing I do is ever good enough. I am always the ‘disobedient brat’ Who never does as she’s told. But I’m 23 for God’s sake! When will your hold on me loosen? You have your hands around me throat And you’re squeezing Tighter, Tighter, Tighter. I was just trying to help, But ‘trying’ Has never been good enough. Your insecurities have been forced onto me And now I am as you are. Just as you have never cared for me, My caring for you has ceased. Still your grip tightens, But I no longer care. I now encourage you. Squeeze, oh brave and powerful one, Squeeze. Tighter, Tighter, I still see the light. Squeeze, mighty possessor, Squeeze. Tighter, Tighter, Until the darkness settles in.
