One Last CaressA Poem by KittyI rip up your photo in a final attempt To get you out of my head, But with each rip I feel my insides tearing. Why can I not remove you From my thoughts? Why can I not detangle myself From your web of deceit? Why can my heart not forget you And what we once had? It’s those blue eyes That shine so mischievously; That gentleman’s charm That you possess. It keeps me hanging on Just incase you call me over One last time. A last caress from the corpse of Love Is all I want. And so I keep waiting, Keep hoping, Keep dreaming, Keep falling. Why do you still taunt me With this hope? You know all it takes is a wink And I melt. You have me Eating out of your hand, And you’ve made sure the food is tainted, Poisoned, Addictive, Deadly. I cannot get you out of my head. My heart still aches for you. So invite me over One last time, Because all I want Is a final caress From your corpse, my love. Copyright©JosieWentzel25March2008
