Angel Tears

Angel Tears

A Poem by Kitty

“Mommy, I’m scared,”

You cry as you jump onto my bed.

“The thunder is loud,” you whimper

As under the blanket you bury your head.

“It’s only nature, Baby,

It’s not scary.

Don’t cry though,

You can spend the night by me.”

“Why does the water

Fall from the skies?”

“Because that’s what happens

When an angel cries.”

“You see, my sweety,

It happened years ago,

The angels up in Heaven

Lost one of their own.”

“That was the day

I was blessed with you.

I had found what they had lost –

You were mine, brand new.”

“And so each day somewhere

The rain falls from the skies.

They miss you, Angel,

That’s the reason angels cry.”

Oh, this is bittersweet. A mother missing her little one. I love the closure! Such a touching poem. Thank James Blaylock for sending this to me. He must have known I would enjoy, he was right! Good job, my friend.

Such a deeply moving, beautiful expression! It brings both comfort and compassion to those moments in life that bring us fear. So good!

I'm so happy James B. passed your poem my way. You have a beautiful way with conversation here and did an excellent job rhyming as well. Your angel story is endearing and full of soul.
