Never Felt Like This

The joy of finally realising that he's just NOT worth it!

Today I cut the tie

That once bound me to you.

And do you know what?

I have never felt this free!

I am free to smile;

Free to laugh;

Free to get up and dance;

Free to be happy;

Free to love again.

I want to shout it out

Across the rooftops,

Have it echo all over the world.

I want everyone to know

That for the first time in forever

I cry tears of joy;

That for the first time

Since as far back as I can remember

I am not faking a smile for you…

It's so hard to be objective about a relationship while youre in it, but when the epiphany comes it can either be be liberating as this one was or it can be disasterous. Ending a bad relationship opens all sorts of possibilities and makes you want to celebrate your independence and autonomy. It makes us better and stronger people.

This is the first poem of yours that I have read and I love it. It bounces with a joy and freedom of its own, echoing the joy and freedom you feel in your own heart.

Underneath the joy is the sadness in the words of what you have gone through - so this poem tells both what was, and the joy of what now is.

I love this for one because it stands out from the rest. Even if it'd been the other way around and this one was dark I would love it. It's always good to dabble in different s**t. I also am a fan of this one because I just went through the same kind of feeling. Still am. I hope the joy stays there for at least a little longer before we all drag back down.
