That's Just Not Me

That's Just Not Me

A Poem by Kitty

They tell me to keep holding on.

Keep encouraging me to stay strong.

But it’s not that easy, you see,

Being strong just isn’t me.

I have failed myself in so many ways.

There are times I sit and cry for days.

I wish I knew how to get out of this hole.

Wish there was a way to soothe my soul.

But the pain is unbearable, so painful, so raw,

Why won’t it leave me, let me walk out the door?

But still they tell me to keep holding on,

Keep encouraging me to stay strong.

But it just isn’t in me, can you not see,

Because living in the dark is where I long to be…

Author's Note

Kitty
It's a bit cheesy (to me), but I haven't really written poems with this Rhyme Scheme, so I thought I'd give a whirl...

I know this feeling too well, and you expressed it so vividly. You clearly show the pain and anxiety that overwhelms and crushes so many in today's world. Cheesy? I think not!

It's a very well written poem. The rhyme scheme is great.
I hate to see you back on the dark side, but you do write
about pain and such very well.
Those of us who love you can't help trying to encourage you.
We want you to be a happy Lady.

Finding peace has always been a struggle for me. But if there is one thing I can wish for the world, it's peace, love, more tolerence, faith, hope and trust. I hope you find it somewhere out there.... more..
