Play Dead

Play Dead

A Poem by Kitty
"

"No more playing..."

"

You smile at me

From across the room.

I return your smile –

I’m playing dead.

You ask me

How I am

And I just reply, ‘Fine’ –

I’m playing dead.

You invite me over

Because you’re lonely,

I decline respectfully –

I’m playing dead.

You find me crying

And ask what is wrong.

I smile through me tears, “Nothing” –

I’m playing dead.

Now laying on the floor

In a pool of my own blood,

There is no need to ask about me –

I’m dead – no more playing…

Your powerful repetition is almost lyrical, bringing about a sense of despair with marked rhythm. And this sadness, permeating the world around you sinks down into this pool of blood, ending the sorrowful game... Awesome write...

Powerful emotion! I got goosebumps reading this. Very effective device (I'm playing dead) You express yourself well.

I realize that by playing dead you mean being dead inside that's a kowel way of putting it.

Dough the cause is a bit insignificant for suicide it would have been better if you would of reflected the disappointment in love a bit more.
