Forget Me Not

I watch you walking by

Pretending that you don’t see me.

But I know you did,

Because of the way

You pulled her closer,

Trying to see what I would do.

I don’t want you,

So please, by all means

Continue as you were.

I hope that you have a good life

And that she is the one for you.

But don’t,

Don’t ever forget me

And how you took away

My one chance of happiness.

Don’t ever forget her name.

Never forget me, Philip,

Because I will haunt

Your every dream…
