Preying on Fear

Preying on Fear

A Poem by Kitty
"

"You taste their fear..."

"

You walk the streets

Late at night,

Stalking through the darkness,

Through the darkened shadows.

You sniff the air,

Sensing them near.

Yes, you feel their fear.

Sneering, you continue

Down the shadowed paths,

Seeking, searching, hungering.

You can feel them.

You sense they’re near.

Yes, you feel their fear.

Seeing their eyes

Grow wide with fright,

You laugh that evil,

Demonic laugh.

You see them here.

Yes, you see their fear.

You chase them;

Taunt them;

Tease them;

Kill them.

You taste their blood here.

Yes, you taste their fear…

How dark. There's a good form and a good flow. The flow is reminiscent of a predator stalking it's prey...not sure if you meant for that to happen but it worked. I liked the repetition of "Yes, you feel their fear," you used it a lot but it wasn't overbearing. Good job!

Powerful and perfect! The darkness dripping down the letters, your use of repetition to drive the fear deeper, your vivid imagery! Incredible piece!
