ENOUGH!!!

Cut off my ears

Burn out my eyes.

Things I cannot hear

And cannot see

Won’t hurt me.

I used to block my ears

But the sound still filtered in.

I used to cover my eyes

But the light still trickled in.

Enough!

I have had enough!

No more sights,

Please, no more sounds.

Just cut off my ears

And burn out my eyes.

What I cannot see

And cannot hear

Won’t hurt me.

Such a starkly moving, deep write... Oh, that the pain we sense in our minds could be severed with our eyes and ears... You boldly seem to scream this piece and it is even more haunting because of this piercing cry... Brilliant...
