Emotionally Torn Apart

Tears well up in my eyes,

But I refuse to let you see my tears.

How I wish

This didn’t have to happen this way.

I love you.

Yes, I still do,

Even after all the pain;

All the heartache;

All the tears.

You were my first true love –

I could never just forget that,

How can you?

 

Oh, I hate you!

Yes, I really do!

I hate all the pain you caused;

Hate all the heartache I felt;

Hate all the tears I’ve cried.

But how can I hate you

When I still love you so damn much?

I’m torn between these emotions,

Each one an extreme.
