If Only I Knew

 

Who do I turn to when I feel so alone?

Where do I go to when there is nowhere left to turn?

What am I to do when all I ever do seems to be wrong?

Why do I bother some days?

If only I knew…

 

Would you be the one to listen when I need someone?

Would you be willing to accept my faults?

Would you be willing to understand when I’m down?

Would you be there when I need a friend?

If only I knew…

 

Is it so hard for you to understand that I love you?

Is it difficult to realise that I want to know all there is to know about you?

Is it hard for you to feel what goes on in my heart?

Is it really that difficult for you to figure out how I feel?

If only I knew…

 

I wish I knew how to be what you want me to be.

I wish I knew what to do to make you understand.

I wish I knew just what to do to show you.

I wish I knew how to not be me.

God, If only I knew…

Such a lovely poem for this early morning. "If only I knew..." We all want the answers, yet must wait as they will reveal themselves in due time. I really enjoyed this write. Thanks for sharing.
