Forgiveness Road

Forgiveness Road

A Poem by Alex Borst

Down on old Forgiveness Road
I've been stuck here at the toll
Hoping somebody will help me
With some change

Now if I'd known what I know
I never would have gone down on this road
Think I'd turn this car around
From whence I came

Though it’s been a bumpy ride
Still I've got time right by my side
But to keep a pocket watch
Comes with a chain

So as I hit the open road
This time I'm gonna take it slow
For a clearer path ahead
Is worth more than hours gained
