Helpless

Blowing some steam, with pop culture as my inspiration.

There is nothing I could do

to overcome what I'm going through

I wish this world had come with a manual

 

There is nothing I could say

to make my problems just go away

I just feel so damn ineffectual

 

 

I feel so helpless and alone

the future so unknown

people's hearts have just turned to stone

 

So helpless as I cry

just wish that I would die

as an ocean drips from both my eyes

 

I feel so helpless.

Author's Note

I guess it's inspired mostly from songs I've heard on the radio - all sorts of teen stuff.
There's a change of pace between the first two and last two stanzas - last two are faster.

On a serious note, I like this one. Probably because I can relate to it - the helplessness bit, I mean.

"I wish this world had come with a manual" --- i liked that line. A good piece even if your blowing off steam, my dear. At least, it will be cheaper to write than going to therapy for the insanity this apparent sitaution has been causing you.
