The power of words

Some things can't be fixed with words

but it doesn't hurt to try

a comment or a friendly word

could the teardrop river dry

 

They say pictures weigh in words

a round million, even more

though I haven't found a picture

that would make me go to war

 

Every word, it holds much power

yet together as they link

they could cure or sometimes kill you

before you could even blink

Author's Note

The ending is a little lame, but it's the thought that counts.
I thought about leaving only the first 2 stanzas, but they seemed to need something to link them together.

Good write, words have a lot of power over a person - they could help you feel better, or cut you like knife and hurt a lot. There is a lot of truth in this piece. Great Write.

I lke the ending - sums it up rather well. Great poem - words are certainly powerful entities - I love the part about never seeing a picture that would make you go to war. The pen is still more powerful than the sword. Thank you.
