The Love of God

The Love of God

A Poem by JuliaMancini
"

This really isn't a serious poem. This was just an extra credit poem for theology. The directions were to write a poem with three topics from the current unit.

"

From the hearts that care,

The love of God fills the air.

Coming when they are needed

With the message that God has seeded,

Angels’ impact never receded.

When it comes to the end,

These messengers shall come,

Sifting those who shall ascend

From those whose lives shall shrink from.

Appearing to the Son,

During his time of shun,

Their ministry to him was never done.

From the hearts that care,

The love of God fills the air.

The Chosen People wandered

In the wilderness where their faith was pondered,

This is what the Tabernacles honored.

In Egypt, they suffered under a harsh rule,

So, plague of death was sent,

With the passing over of a ghoul.

Celebrating the safety of the Chosen is how Passover is spent.

To keep the people from flaw,

It was the commandments Moses saw.

Pentecost commemorates the giving of the law.

From the hearts that care,

The love of God fills the air.

Pontius Pilate is known throughout,

As a person one would call out

Since of his condemnation doubt

The Roman Empire was so enlarged,

Prefects were needed to oversee,

The taxes collecting, peacekeeping, and sentences charged,

Also, reporting to Rome, they needed to achieve.

Prefects were despised by many

By robbing through taxes plenty,

As despicable insects waving their antennae.

From the hearts that care,

The love of God fills the air.

This was just a little poem for theology. I had to write a poem about three topics from the last unit. I literally wrote this poem in 10 minutes. What do you think?
