Curiosity didn't only kill the catA Poem by Julianna Marie
You drink down your rum,
and I'll drink down my coke. We'd be a great combination, but we both know that you don't want to dilute your poison, that I don't want to dilute my purity. What have we become? Or worse yet, have things always been this way? Questions unanswered, Questions never asked, Questions desired to be taken back. Why is it you need these things, but you don't need me? Addiction is a curious thing, and curiosity killed the cat. I swear I've seen your claws one time too many. Should I make a tombstone for you and your curiosity? Or is that one more thing you don't really need? Every time I open my eyes, open my mouth, open my door-- history repeats. Continue your sins with your sadistic grin, but leave me behind. I'm not leaving home, I'm leaving you. I hope it hurts to know the truth, you deserve a taste of your own medicine. But this is no cure that I give to you, -- its poison. And we both know you wanted that more. More than life, more than family, more than me. Don't worry, I'll make that tombstone for you and your curiosity. © 2010 Julianna Marie |
