This Butterfly...

~ a romantic scribble ~

 

Once upon a time

                     butterflies fluttered at dawn

 

Delicate wings unfolding

                               in a sky of pastel ribbons

                     and golden morning dew

 

In gladness and joy

                          my heart unfolded too

                                in a fairytale

     of dew kissed dawns

                              and sunny happily ever afters

 

This butterfly…

 

fragile, delicate

                        and yet

 

I found strength

                                 because you believed in me

                    and I believed in you

                                     and fairytales never really end

                             they just dim slowly…

                                         like butterflies fluttering

                       under a pastel sunset

 

So, when I’m missing you

                             and the pulse of sorrow is as slow as my heartbeat

                as fragile as a butterfly…

 

                        I remember

    to always believe in the fairytale

                    …this butterfly

Some memories are never meant to fade. Hold on to them and as you say they may dim but the fairytale is always alive. To have such love for someone that the loss is transpired in such a magical form as this simply brings a smile to my face. You have a way with words. Truly uplifting, sentimental and emotional.
