This Butterfly...

~ a romantic scribble ~

 

Once upon a time

                     butterflies fluttered at dawn

 

Delicate wings unfolding

                               in a sky of pastel ribbons

                     and golden morning dew

 

In gladness and joy

                          my heart unfolded too

                                in a fairytale

     of dew kissed dawns

                              and sunny happily ever afters

 

This butterfly…

 

fragile, delicate

                        and yet

 

I found strength

                                 because you believed in me

                    and I believed in you

                                     and fairytales never really end

                             they just dim slowly…

                                         like butterflies fluttering

                       under a pastel sunset

 

So, when I’m missing you

                             and the pulse of sorrow is as slow as my heartbeat

                as fragile as a butterfly…

 

                        I remember

    to always believe in the fairytale

                    …this butterfly

When I read your poems about the love that you lost so unexpected, it makes me believe in forever.
It is something special to be able to hold on to the memories, and cherish them for the time you had together.

This is very soft, and tender, and full of longing for that time.
