You will NOT bring me down...

This is about a past relationship...I was having a hard time when I wrote this...I apologize that most of my writing is so dark...My mind has many shadows...

The darkness...Is an embrace of which you cannot escape...

The light has dark temptations...Everywhere you turn...There are shadows...

They swallow you...Until you...Swallow the pills on the second shelf of the upstairs bathroom...Until you take your own life...Until you push everyone away...

Until everything you once liked about yourself is demolished...

You...You are the darkness in my life...But I will not push everyone away...

I will push you away...Brush you off my shoulder...Swat you away as if you are an annoyance rather than a danger...

I will NOT...Show weakness...Or let my guard down...I see you there...I can almost read the blueprint that is your mind...Scheming...Plotting...Making me your toy...

But I will not be your Barbie...Nor you my Ken...

Goodbye...Don't come back again.

I loved it and really didn't find it dark at all.. just an expression of escaping something that didn't fit and being someone that you didn't want to be with the wrong person.. If my brief perception is correct I know that feeling all too well.

There is nothing worse than others having expectations of you that YOU can not maintain nor enjoy in life. High level of self-respect found in this.. I applaud it! People just love to manipulate others.. hooray you escaped it! This was inspirational and full of life to me.. awesome.

oh boy...I can relate ...those dark shadows, looming, threatening to consume...
the painful games played, the ache that comes with the realization that this is your reality, not just a bad dream that will melt away at daybreak.
Good on you for being strong, resisting the manipulation...good on you for taking back your power!
