A Morning after the HolidaysA Poem by AnnaUnwinding from Holiday StressA Morning after the Holidays Warm, rich liquid travels down my throat, Heating my shivering skin, Soft, pillows filled with the feathers of an angel’s wings Steady my sore back, urging me to
fall into repose Blankets envelope my feet and
comfort me to a daydream The keyboard at my fingertips, Provides the soft melody of clicks
that sing me a morning song, I delicately spill out words that
come without thought, And enjoy the lovely sounds of a
morning spent indoors, A bubble of pure content shields me
from any stress tapping on my window, Cold air is no match to the heat I
gather around me I am a survivor of the holidays, And I proudly exclaim my victory throughout
this joyful daybreak. © 2012 AnnaAuthor's Note
