Round and RoundA Poem by AnnaThe constant spins of daily lifeRound and Round I grab the handlebars
as my life spins faster, My stomach swirls and
my vision blurs, But the calming
sensation Of knowing the ride
will be over, That soon enough this
will just be an unpleasant memory That will gently nap
in the shadows of my mind To be the reminder of
what unhappiness feels like, It’s enough to let me
keep going- holding on, To allow me to forget
about the nausea The sickness of it
all, And to give it one
last whirl To not loathe the
wind, but value it And enjoy the candor
of it all When my skin tickles
with joy And my eyes close in
passion I forget I’m
spinning, Stuck in a revolution
that only orbits the same sun Day after day, Night after night, I forget I’m gripping
the cool metal bars Begging to remain
grounded, I enjoy the wind And taste the
sunshine, I breathe the
fresh crisped air of freedom. © 2012 AnnaAuthor's Note
