What have they done to you?
Look at me, you look beat down!
Look up! Don't bring your head down! That ain't you.

When I left you, I left you proud,
You streets have become numb,
But is not your fault
You streets are full of fake smiles,
Faces looking down
They are lost without a doubt.

I have seen people wreck their lives with heroin addiction. I have seen people whose lives were cut short as a result of it. Once hooked, it can become so difficult to get off it. Your poem has reminded me, with its sad tone of those I've known, who aren't around anymore. And streets left with the evidence, dirty with needles, a reminder.
