Hang up Those Dreams on the Coat Stand.

Hang up Those Dreams on the Coat Stand.

A Poem by Katrina Crickett
"

something I ended up coming up with after talking with a friend. It's basically a friend giving advice to his friend who is in love with someone else's girl.

"
The thing is, she knows that you're falling
A little more in love with her each day
She tries and fails and tries again to sway you
But in the end she gives up and walks away.

You see son; that'll always be your problem
Faling for someone that you'll never hold
You torture yourself and try to heal it
But loss and rejection will never get old.

That pain that you're feeling? It won't lessen
Until you take the bull hy the horns and let go.
She's with your best friend and they're in love
Rejections always leaves with a bitter blow.

You say tha you're done and you're over her
Then she smiles, your heart melts and you're hers.
I wish you'd stop living in dreams boy,
Because you'll never then know what you're worth.

One day you'll make some girl happy
With your heart stopping smile and your wit.
But just because you can't have that one girl you want
You spend most of your life chasing skirt.

If you believed in yourself, son, I wonder:
If you'd be content to stay,
in a long distance relationship with someone
whom you'll meet in the future some da.

I know moving on, it ain't easy
Especially from what might have been
But that girl, she's in love with your best friend,
You'll have to make do with her love in your dreams.

I hate to see you unhappy,
My advice is more tough love than spite
Pining after someone else's someone
won't help you find Mrs. Right.

So hang up those old drems on the coat stand,
grab your shoes and take a long walk,
Along the beach, the streets and the park son,
You and your future are due a long talk.
