Sherri’s eyebrows pulled down, and an inexorable sensation flitted in her chest, her hands. The loud thumping EDM music danced with the rising pulse of her heart. She imagined blood on her claws, intestines on her tongue. The new addition to her cage would brighten the place right up. Sherri observed the white man slip something in a woman’s drink, and her face broke out into the widest grin.

He moved through the darkness to watch his victim, and beneath the stale hot air, she prowled. When he finally noticed her, he jumped. She closed in. “You’re cute, dance with me.” Her voice was low, inviting as she licked her lips.

“Nah, I’m good.”

She grabbed his arm, sank her nails into his flesh. She was getting impatient; her mouth was salivating. “I wasn’t asking,” she growled. The man’s face turned pallid. Beads of sweat formed across his forehead. He opened his mouth, but Sherri placed a finger on her lips.  “Scream, and I’ll cut your throat.”

He surrendered. “Don’t hurt me please.”

F*****g coward, she seethed. But all the more reason for him to sit in her cage. “Walk,” she commanded. She pushed him and he stumbled in her guidance. “Good boy.”

Sherri directed him outside of the club and found a furtive corner to knock him unconscious. She placed his arm over her shoulders to make it look like a kind woman taking care of her drunk lover. She got him to the car.

She drove out to the forest. When she stepped out of her car, she made sure to tie him up and slap tape over his mouth. She morphed into her tall wolf form and skulked in the shadows towards her cage.

Other men, guilty of trafficking people, were now congested in her cage; they all gawked at her, tape over their mouths sweating and crying. Sherri had never felt more powerful. Intestines, blood, and flesh decorated the bars. Her nose was deluged in iron and sweet cedar and heavy decay. She was at ease here. Her mind emptied of all concerns about the full moon now. Her cage was appealing now. “I’ve brought company,” she announced, her voice light and bubbly.
