Your writing seems to depend a lot on phrases that attempt to evoke emotions by telling the reader the emotion you want them to feel. I believe with a little more practice you can craft the emotion and trust the reader to understand your meaning. You should write a poem about anger, then one about being exultant. Dig deep into your conscious. Go from being very good to great.
