I read this and thought of looking into an old (rediscovered from an attic) - saved cardboard box full of bits and reminiscences and how the mind reflects back on "other" moments.

"Paper Dragons..."

Some things make perfect sense
...now
- that didn't then;
and others have power -
such POWER they pause me,
take me away,
bring me ...here -
where the ice burns hard and
so intent...
and I'm left looking into ...being me.
I don't know how to cry
for should haves
...anymore.

the thoughts youv'e shared here are edifying. This poem give voice to the very voice we all possess, namely our own unique inner person.
The thing I realy liked about this particular peice is that you give "permission" to simply be who one isl simply for it's own sake.
The struggle in life and mental issues many times can stem from this inner being not being nurtured and loved and accepted.
This poem is beautiful just for that very reason.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts.
