Shipwrecked

Shipwrecked

A Poem by KWP
"

Day 22 NaPoWriMo - a release.

"

Anchored to the deep the dark,

decaying with the years,

your shipwrecked mind has rusted,

with false wisdom of the yesteryear.

It all changes you know,

everything,

in the everywhen.

You may not notice the subtlety of change,

so give yourself a slap,

wake up,

be alert,

be aware.

It all changes you know.

Release the anchor of your shipwrecked mind,

unleash the chains upon your soul,

come up for air

breath it deep within your sodden hull

then float,

just float,

in the sea of equanimity.

Once and for all - let life be.

we can be a tenacious lot when thinking we have "it" right ...all tattered bruised and torn we refuse to let go ... i was tending my little bit of forest yesterday ... clearing some to the fallen trees and brush out .. the thickness of the humus there impressed me .. i didn't want to disturb it too much ..lots of creatures in there you know ... it occurs to me that filling ones lungs with air will float us ... but so will decay and bloating .. hmmmmmmm ... such joy in you "..float.." and "..let life be" .. my sight is easily filled with the sunrise this morning and now my soul has a filling .. love and peace KWP!

Change happens whether your paying attention or not.. I like the way your words flow in such straight forward lines.. Thank you for sharing.

Anchored mind is a great description and I love the way you use this throughout to convey your thoughts in this piece. Great imagery woven from the first line to the last.

Subtly is a funny thing. Relativity rules us completely ... in empty space, movement is impossible to gauge. In empty space if one is floating static and the other is moving past very quickly... neither would be able to tell who is moving or who is static, both will appear to be in motion to the other. Nothing is intuitive without a reference. To find equanimity you must have resistance to measure (the gravity of celestial bodies helps in reality, down here... morality does something similar; I think, I really can't be sure... abstract thoughts jar my natural instruments and I'm not that great with physics). In short... nothing is what you get when you let things be absolutely.

Tis said every day is a miracle, each tone of it creating a million dreams. Seems you've taken that quote or similar and created a nudge of awareness that Nature has its own way - Man is mere part of it. Perhaps? As always, fine, fine poetry.

Because change is often subtle--gradual--not only does it frequently escape our immediate attention, but when it does finally and completely come starkly into focus, that realization can be unsettling.
"Shipwrecked," of course, says this--and more--impressively.
High-level work, K!
