what of you shall never perish?

were perfect all along?

here you and your fleshy body sit

imperfection reeks …

your fat gut bulges right out of your jeans, and you have

stumpy round legs like a chopped up stump, you are

stinky with perspiration which inhibits this all around space, what’s that?

an in-grown biggest toe nail … infected again?

your resting face says ‘f**k off’,

smiling face a furrow,

orgasm face screams ‘I’m in pain’,

are they …. wrinkles? crows feet, you are old ….

skin blemishes pockmark you, I saw your

oar-like feet

dead dull eyes to tell us, you have given up, why not? you have

calf-birthing hips, not to mention 

surface of the moon-butt 

you are the skinny ‘eating issues’ type, with a 

slight of maleness

and, far too feminine, for a man

you resemble a bitter old bird (the human type)

that’s what they call a beer belly you know 

not a supermodel, or in fact any kind of model

beauty is within, your parents told you, 

your imperfection reeks 

your fleshy body perishable,

dying a little more each day

fact!

but what of you shall never perish?

could this be where you find you were perfect all along?

That was a tour de force of physical self loathing. It's a good way to deal with aging, let it all hit the floor. The people who are coping the worst with the aging thing are the one's trying too hard to be young. I see guys on these weird diets, eating every other day usually tasteless food or elk meat fried in raccoon grease.... they put themselves through this misery to delay aging by a year or two and then usually suffer from diabetes and severe arthritis later in life more than they would have if they just chilled the phuck out and aged like a regular human being.

I read a quite from the Gita and this is what inspired the poem - impermanence - nothing will ever be perfect but we are so hard on ourselves as humans - we are also hard on each other - the question is what lies beneath our own impermanence?

The gita is good.

The answer to the question is less relevant than the desire and drive to honestly ask the question. If some questions ever do get answered, we might regret not being able to ask them again in the same way. You can only understand once, some consequences are permanent, we may be eternal but we only get to live once.

Interesting thought - you can only understand once ....

I do think at certain times, ages and mindsets we do understand things differently, or perhaps at a deeper level - or, perhaps not deeper at all.

I agree about the answer being less relevant ... I do however think (on a different line) if we are authentic beings, answers come a lot more easily

I live in america, most people never completely emotionally mature here. It's like that everywhere I guess but in america it's worse. Most people live in a fantasy reality here, but they don't fully realize it because everything is so polarized they are either choosing to ignore the other side of the debate completely or engage in a highly biased and cynical way. The rest of the world should take note of what's happening in america right now, it's not long, 3 or 4 or 5 generations... this place is going to be a pseudo religious oligarchy. It's going to happen at this point unless something drastic takes place. That's still 100 years away and I'll be dead so I can't care too much but... dude, it's pretty wild over here at the moment.

America is fast loosing ground, I can see that from here. The BRIC Nations are getting more savvy and it may just be what this planet needs.

Sorry for bringing that up... ugh... the presidential election is coming up and we are all inundated with this s**t constantly here now. It's absurd. It's a mental health crisis. All americans are suffering from this s**t right now. One way or another. Ugh.
