until you remember

until you remember

A Poem by KWP

the veil lifted from this bond

extradition from ‘us'  a decision mine alone

blood also belongs to you

you watch them die

listen to the greed, while

watching them die

let their dying blood

course your veins

until you remember what it means to be

human again

I've been there. It's not a place you want to go again. But if you have to, you go with your brother and sister by your side. And when you return, you try to regain your humanity.

Very nice. May I ask what you were thinking of while writing this? I mean, I know it has to do with death, but I felt something raw while reading and just wondered if you had something running through your soul and mind at the time.

A very humanitarian poem and what it means to be humans; we all share gifts of humanity, guilts of inhumanity.
Wars break all bonds sadly.

We forget so much when we focus on Selves; think our day to day is how life should be yet - is anything but. Comes time to stand and smell fresh air - you know you'll never forget. Loss leaves its sting as well as its smile.

' the veil lifted from this bond
extradition from ‘us' a decision mine alone ' -

Deeply felt feelings here. Sad words, understood. Always will be.

When we forget to be human, we lose purpose, we lose the bond with another.
eventually that person's tolerance does not survive.
it is bloody field of evidence left.
the heartless drive the caring away.
