Nature Rises

Nature Rises

A Poem by KWP

I sit myself high on this mountain scape

gaze upward to a sky adorned with wisp white clouds

my head tilts awaiting the sun’s fond kiss

as a gentle breeze weaves

the valley, the trees, the grass - to me

I breathe,

the sight of a turquoise butterfly, eager to land on a single golden flower,

wings glinting in the sun, directing my wholehearted attention -

I attempt to count its flutters

impossible!

I am getting caught up in the radiance

a tiny moment of

all that is

the flower, butterfly, tree, mountains, valleys and me

the sky and the sun

all -

invoked by nature

with a request to simply be,

this time, this place

in return a promised existence of

eternal impermanence -

ah, finally, a place to call home.

Seeing Nature is so different from looking at it.. the latter suggests a walk past rather than stopping to see every nuance human eyes can or could see. You offer a few steps into a world not made by Man but created for him by whatever one believes in.. surrounding that offer beauty, truth and a haven. Thank you as ever always. Hope my few words are readable

I sat through a very boring human anatomy lecture that turned out to be interesting in retrospect. If only for the references to how bugs, particularly butterflies and bees, detect light and why tigers look so strikingly obvious to us but why certain ungulates and boars are virtually blind to them (they are orange color blind... tigers are almost invisible to them, life must be a nightmare for them, or a dream as they never really "see" the end coming). Also.. there is a painter named Concita Atico, she is what is called a "tetrachrome" where they have an extra type/set of color receptors in their eye/brain and therefore see more of the light spectrum. It makes for interesting artwork.

This does not surprise me
It's wonderful to feel at home in nature and one with your surroundings. Lovely write.

It flows well with the natural beauty surrounding the author. It has immersion and appreciation, release and no coercion.
Enjoyed your write!
