Erase It

a poem about my Uncle's death... I actually cried while writing this

Erase it all

Start at the begining

Finish at today

 

Take it all off my mind

Leave me

Memoryless

 

Well at least

With no memory

Of that day

 

The day

When Uncle Dave

Shot himself

 

Straight through

His brain

That day of course

 

Erase that day

And tell me

He moved far away

 

Don't let me

Remember him

Leaving the Earth

 

That way.

Tell me he was

Sent to prison and

 

That he said he loved me

That he said he would

Come back again.

 

Don't let me

Remember

That terrible day.

 

That one day

That he asked me to

Come over

 

But I said no

Then the part

When we got that

 

Phone call

Saying he was dead.

Erase his death

 

Out of my mind.

Don't let me feel

The guilt anymore.

 

Erase these reoccuring

Thoughts about that day.

Erase it

 

Just that

Please?

So depressing...which is good :D
Nice use of repitition, though dont overdo it. Change of structure from the last two lines was created good impact. All in all, great poem :)
