A new story I begin

A new story I begin

A Poem by Kaitlyn Raiford

My feet slow as I approach

The colorful crowd of the costumed.

There is a boy, and I already know,

Who's repulsive ways have consumed.

I do not need to see his face

To know that he's a w***e.

As I walk I begin to shake-

"He is a monster, and nothing more."

But sadly I need not to look

To know that he is near.

Despite how quiet he walks past,

I can feel his presence here.

I walk up to the one I now claim-

The one that I am happy to be with.

In his arms I am gently embraced,

Before taking a slight look.

There he is- that monster.

Standing there with those who were friends.

But now to him, they are closer,

And I have to accept our friendship's end.

I do not want to turn my back

On the complete life that I had-

I just want to close the chapter

That he was in.

But sadly I cannot tear him out without the others-

So a new story I begin.
