My Darling

My Darling

A Poem by Kala Benfield
"

This is for my lost love. RIP Hunter James Smith March 8, 1994 - March 21,2011

"

My dearest love,

Why have you left me?

You have left me withered,

Punctured. Like a rose does to your fingers,

the rose you gave me.

As the blood drizzles from my brain,

I ponder your existance.

I guzzle you down, for my heart is thirsty.

I remember the warm embrace I felt.

The love that coursed my veins when you took

me to your favorite place.

I want to let go,

but I suffer slowly.

As you said it would be the last time,

suddenly my world dimmed.

I'm blue and cold.

Love tears me down.

Something farther beyond this world,

you feel my agony.

My lungs are numb.

Screaming for your love,

for your attention.

Was there anything I could have said or done?

God only knows what went wrong.

Tangled reminisce.

I remain thoughtless,

but of one.

You my dearest, closest, loved one.

I only think of you.

It wasnt long enough to last Forever.

Anger gets the best of me.

This isnt how I planned it.

Trembling at your memory,

and so tired.

My Darling, why have you left me?

Alone.

Lost.

Clueless all the way down to the seams.

Why do you belong to them,

when we belong?

You were in my arms.

When we knew for our lives.

My heart swears by your name.

Why have you left me, my darling?

I swear,

this isn't Good-Bye.
